Nelson City Centre

Nelson city is famous for it creative and artistic talent. This can be seen in the atmosphere of the unique Central Nelson city shopping, with fashion and jewellery boutique shops that are local independent retailers. The famous Saturday and Sunday morning markets in Montgomery Square are full with Arts, Crafts, and delicious food many made and produced by creative Nelson locals. Nelson city has numerous excellent restaurant, cafes and bars all in short walking distance of each other.

At the top of the main street (Trafalgar) you will find the Nelson Cathedral.  Building started in 1925, The majority of marble used in its construction was sourced from the Pakikiruna Range, near Takaka. The cathedral is open to the public and boasts a magnificient pipe organ and colourful stained glass windows.

Nelson cities streets are lined with boutique shops and outdoor cafes, great for a stroll and a coffee on a sunny day. 

Founders Heritage Park is a fun day out for the families, where you can experience Nelson's past and present.  A 2 minute drive from the Nelson CBD.  Stroll around a village of historic buildings 1880 - 1930s and experience early Nelson's heritage.  Enjoy established gardens, playground and picnic ares or take a summertime ride on the old train.

The Admirals Motor Lodge is located in Nelson city and is easy walking distance to the central Nelson city shopping district, Trafalgar Street, Bus Station and iSite.
